Thailand Weather – Surat Thani
Surat Thani is a province located in southern Thailand. It has a tropical climate or Aw under the Koppen-Geiger climate classification system. Surat Thani has an average annual temperature of 27 degrees Celsius (80.6 degrees Fahrenheit) and average rainfall and precipitation of 1,850 mm.
The province gets its lowest minimum temperature of 20.1 degrees Celsius (68.2 degrees Fahrenheit) during the month of February and the highest maximum temperature of 34.6 degrees Celsius (94.3 degrees Fahrenheit) during the month of April. Thailand is divided into three seasons: the rainy or southwest monsoon season from mid-May to mid-October, which most of the country experiences and with August and September being the wettest months. Dry spells also occur 1 to 2 weeks from June to early July. The winter or northeast monsoon starts from mid-October to mid-February and most of the country experiences dry weather during this season with mild temperatures. Minimum temperatures during this time range from 21 degrees Celsius (69.8 degrees Fahrenheit) to 22.3 degrees Celsius (72.1 degrees Fahrenheit), while maximum temperatures range from 33.8 degrees Celsius (92.8 degrees Fahrenheit) to 34.6 degrees Celsius (94.3 degrees Fahrenheit).
Wet season: Surat Thani’s rainy season is during the months of May to October when the province gets 142 to 276 mm of rainfall and precipitation, with October considered as the wettest month. During this time, minimum temperatures can range from 22.7 degrees Celsius (72.9 degrees Fahrenheit) to 23.4 degrees Celsius (74.1 degrees Fahrenheit), while maximum temperatures range from 30.6 degrees Celsius (87.1 degrees Fahrenheit) to 33.6 degrees Celsius (92.5 degrees Fahrenheit).
Winter season: Surat Thani experiences its winter season during the months of November to February, which is also considered the city’s driest months of the year, getting around 22 to 342 mm of rainfall and precipitation, with February considered as the driest month. Minimum temperatures range from 20.1 degrees Celsius (68.2 degrees Fahrenheit) to 22.2 degrees Celsius (72 degrees Fahrenheit), while maximum temperatures range from 28.9 degrees Celsius (84 degrees Fahrenheit) to 32.3 degrees Celsius (90 degrees Fahrenheit).
Best time to Go
Surat Thani’s peak season is during the months of February to October, as the climate is perfect to explore the province’s various offerings. The months of November to February is also a pleasant time to visit in spite of the humid weather.
