Singapore Weather

Singapore is an island city-state in Southeast Asia. It can be found one degree north of the equator at the southern tip of the Malaysian Peninsula, with Indonesia’s Riau Islands found to the south and Peninsular Malaysia to the north. The city-state is composed of 63 islands, and the main island is called Pulau Ujong. It has a tropical rainforest climate or Af under the Koppen-Geiger classification system, with an average annual temperature of 26.8 degrees Celsius (80.2 degrees Fahrenheit) and average precipitation of 2.378 mm.

The city-state gets its lowest minimum temperature of 22.3 degrees Celsius (72.1 degrees Fahrenheit) in January and the highest maximum temperature of 31.3 degrees Celsius (88.3 degrees Fahrenheit) during the months of April and May. Average minimum temperatures in Singapore range from 22.3 degrees Celsius (72.1 degrees Fahrenheit) to 23.6 degrees Celsius (74.5 degrees Fahrenheit), while average maximum temperatures can range from 29.7 degrees Celsius (85.5 degrees Fahrenheit) to 31.3 degrees Celsius (88.3 degrees Fahrenheit).

Singapore has no distinct seasons, with a generally uniform temperature and pressure, high humidity, and abundant rainfall. The city-state usually experiences a generally wetter monsoon season from November to January.

Wet season: Singapore’s wet season is during the months of November to January when it gets around 250 to 298 mm of rain, with December considered as the wettest month. During this time minimum temperatures can range from 22.3 degrees Celsius (72.1 degrees Fahrenheit) to 22.8 degrees Celsius (73 degrees Fahrenheit), while maximum temperatures range from 29.7 degrees Celsius (85.5 degrees Fahrenheit) to 30.4 degrees Celsius (86.7 degrees Fahrenheit).

Dry season: Singapore experiences its dry season during the months of February to October when it gets around 163 to 195 mm of rain, with September considered as the driest month. During this time, average minimum temperatures range from 22.6 degrees Celsius (72.7 degrees Fahrenheit) to 23.6 degrees Celsius (74.5 degrees Fahrenheit). Average maximum temperatures, on the other hand, range from 30.6 degrees Celsius (87.1 degrees Fahrenheit) to 31.3 degrees Celsius (88.3 degrees Fahrenheit).

Best Time to Go

The best time to visit Singapore is during the months of June to July and November to December when the temperatures are comfortable. These months are also considered as the peak tourist season in the city-state. You can also consider visiting during the months of February to April when the weather and temperatures quite pleasant for outdoor activities.
