Mandalay is a region at Myanmar’s centre. It has a local steppe climate or BSh under the Koppen-Geiger climate classification and gets little rainfall throughout the year. The region has an average annual temperature of 27 degrees Celsius (80.6 degrees Fahrenheit) and average rainfall and precipitation of 812 mm.
The region gets its lowest minimum temperature of 13.1 degrees Celsius (55.6 degrees Fahrenheit) in January and the highest maximum temperature of 37.9 degrees Celsius (100.2 degrees Fahrenheit) in April. For the most part, Myanmar lies between the Tropic of Cancer and the Equator — so parts of the country are included in Asia’s monsoon region. The country’s coastal regions experience over 5,000 mm of rain with an average maximum temperature of 32.6 degrees Celsius (89.6 degrees Fahrenheit) annually. The delta region, on the other hand, experiences around 2,500 mm of rain and the same temperatures as that of the coastal region. The country’s dry zones experience less than 1,000 mm of rain annually, while the northern regions are considered the coolest — experiencing average temperatures of 21 degrees Celsius (70 degrees Fahrenheit).
