Huyen Tran Princess Temple

Enjoy a serene mountainside view and a breath-taking statue of a legendary 14th-century princess at the Huyen Tran Princess Temple.

The 28-hectare Huyen Tran Princess Temple and Cultural Centre is located at the foot of the Ngu Phong Mountain. Famous for its golden statues, splendid landscapes, and peaceful atmosphere, pilgrims and tourists visit it alike to enjoy the beautiful scenery and also to pay tribute and gratitude to Princes Huyan Tran of the Tran Dynasty.

A seemingly endless pine forest surrounds the centre, while the 2.37-metre high, pure copper statue of the Princess seated on the throne can be found at the foot of the mountain. Aside from these, guests can also explore the Hoa Binh bell tower, which can be found at the top of the mountain. The copper bell is engraved with the words “peace world, happy humankind,” and is believed that the sound of which could bring peace to humankind.

The Huyen Tran Princess Temple can be found at 151 Thien Thai Road, around 6 kilometres south of Hue, Vietnam.

The temple is open every day, from 08:00 to 17:00.

The locals organise a festival on the 9th day of the first lunar month to pay homage to Princess Huyen Tran for all her contributions to the country. The said festival attracts locals from the area and neighbouring provinces, with planned that include incense-offering and bell-ringing ceremonies, traditional art and music shows, martial arts performances, floral arrangement contests, and more.
