Kim Bong Carpentry Village
Kim Bong Carpentry Village is a 500-year old village and a popular attraction at Hoi An that’s home to artisans who have been making prominent buildings all around Hoi An, Hanoi, and Hue since the 16th century.
For many years, Kim Bong artisans have upheld the reputation of making the finest furniture, architectural structures, and ships with their unique carpentry style influenced by Chinese, Japanese, and Cham design. Today, Kim Bong Carpentry Village is a place where tourists can see how artisans make impressive statues, wood carvings, religious relics, and elaborately designed wooden doors. The village is also full of souvenir shops selling coasters and knick-knacks for a few dollars, and religious statues that cost around one thousand dollars.
