Tan Dinh Church
One of Saigon’s towering Catholic Churches, Tan Dinh Church is an eye-catching landmark in Ho Chi Minh’s District 1 thanks to its intricate design and bright pink colour.
Tan Dinh Church is one of Saigon’s architectural masterpieces — its allure can be attributed to the Renaissance and Gothic elements that have remained intact despite the ravaging wars that plagued the city. The 142-year old church is also known in the community as the place where a beloved priest — Father Donatien Eveillard — trained disadvantaged Vietnamese kids the process of the publishing trade. Today, Tan Dinh Church goes by the name “The Pink Church” — just mention it to anyone and they’ll surely know what you’re referring to.
