Linh Phuoc Pagoda

The Linh Phuoc Pagoda, also known as Ve Chai Pagoda is not your typical pagoda — as it is intricately inlaid with thousands of broken glass.

Also known as the Ve Chai Pagoda, which literally means “pieces of broken glass bottles,” the nickname could not be more apt to, as small pieces of broken glass, porcelain, terracotta, and beer bottles adorn every part of the Linh Phuoc Pagoda. The glass mosaics can be found in every wall, ceiling, Buddha, dragon, and mythical creature. The pagoda features a 33-metre long and 12-metre wide main hall that has 2 rows of cobblestone mosaics. Mosaic bas-reliefs that depict the history of Shakyamuni and the Lotus Sutras can be found on top. The temple grounds — Hoa Long Vien has a dragon length of 49-metres wherein the dragon enclosure is made of 12,000 beer bottles, while the dragon mouth covers the Maitreya Buddha. Definitely a unique and must-visit pagoda.
