King Rama IX Park
Built in 1987 to celebrate King Bhumibol's 60th birthday, King Rama IX Park is not only the largest green space in Thailand, but it’s also one of the most popular parks in Bangkok.
Considered as one of the largest parks in Bangkok – it has a botanical garden, a large lake, and several spaces that give a nod to different countries in the world. Some of the countries that are represented in the garden include England, Japan, China, France, and America. Apart from the impressive gardens and cozy green spaces, structures like the Thakon Phrakia Pavillion also showcase the country’s various teak designs. More than 40 species of lotus and waterlilies vie for your attention here. King Rama IX Park also boasts of flourishing floras – plants from different Thai provinces are in full bloom here.
