Malay Heritage Centre
The Malay community is an influential group in Singapore. Learn more about their rich culture and lasting heritage by visiting Malay Heritage Centre.
The former Istana Kampong Glam — the former home of Malay royalties — was refurbished in 2004 into the Malay Heritage Centre. Beyond its well-kept grounds is a museum that has a vast display of historical artifacts and exhibits — both actual and in multimedia — which tells the colourful history of the Malay people and their contributions to Singapore. The two-story heritage centre — which still bears some details from its original facade — features six different galleries inside.
