Climaco Freedom Park
Formerly known as Abong Abong Park, the improved Climaco Freedom Park -- with its famous Boy Scouts Campsite and Holy Hill -- is one of Zamboanga’s most popular tourist destinations.
Located just 7.5 kilometres away from the city, Climaco Freedom Park is a great destination for anyone who wants to enjoy a quick nature getaway. Some of the attractions in the park include a Boy and Girl Scouts campsite, a swimming hole known as Chrislam Pool, a garden, and the attraction famous during the Lent — the Holy Hill. To reach the top, visitors must finish an arduous hike — locals believe the hike symbolises many things like overcoming the natural man, the Lord’s atonement, and an individual’s pursuit of success.
