National Museum of the Philippines – Ilocos
One of the most significant museums in Vigan, the Padre Burgos Museum is a place that has a story to tell not only about the Filipino martyr but about Vigan as well.
What looks like a typical stone house on the outside is actually a museum that is overflowing with history — this grand Vigan landmark is the birthplace and former residence of Padre Burgos, one of the three martyr priests who died under the Spanish regime. A vast display of historically significant items can be found inside this museum — most of the exhibits include original furniture, old household items, a grand piano, and photos and other memorabilia about Vigan. Outside the museum is a garden that is heavily shaded with trees — apart from learning about the items displayed outside, one can also take a relaxing stroll here.
