Wat Zom Kham
Wat Zom Kham is one of the most commanding attractions in Kengtung, Myanmar. This gilded stupa - noted for its stunning gold colour - dates back to the 13th century.
Wat Zom Kham is not your ordinary stupa – this golden attraction located in the centre of Kengtung is believed to have been visited by Gautama Buddha himself. Although it is a hundred percent a Myanmar attraction, it is created using Thai architecture – the Thai details are seen in both its exterior and interior. Inside this temple, you will see both monks and locals – sometimes in big groups – gather for worship. From its spot, you can also get a great view of the town.
