Lambir Hills National Park is a great place to take some time out from the city and just go on a nature trail over the weekend. With options to stay overnight, there is no stress nor rush to return to the city within the same day.
Location
Lambir Hills National Park is located approximately 32 kilometres south of Miri Town Center or about a 40-minute drive away from town proper.
Opening Days and Hours
The park opens daily from 8:00 to 15:00.
Entry Fee and Bookings
Entrance fees to the park varies depending on the visitor. Foreign tourists are charged RM 20 (USD4.89) for the adults and RM 10 (USD 2.45) for the children. Locals are charged half the amount.
How to Get There
- Fly to Miri, Sarawak via Malaysia Airlines or AirAsia.
- From Miri, proceed to Syarikat Bas Suria or to Syarikat Bus Braham and avail of the 40-minute bus ride to the park’s headquarters.

Time to Spend
To explore the park, most people will require at least a full day (6 hours) if you would like to go on most of the trails or hikes. Experienced hikers will take a much shorter time.
Popularity and Best Time to Go
It is recommended to start early in the morning to experience a more relaxing hike with cooler temperatures. The more popular area such as the waterfalls can get crowded later in the day.

Most activities at the park will involve some degree of hiking or trekking. You can also choose to cool down or have a picnic at some of the waterfall trails.
Food
There is a canteen at the national park which serves simple and budget meals. It is recommended that you bring your own meals should you choose to have a picnic or stay overnight at the park.
Safety and Fraud
Do prepare drinking water for your hikes to ensure that you stay hydrated. Proper footwear will be required for the hike to prevent possible injuries.
Stay
There are accommodations in the park itself at a budget to mid-range which includes a camp site or chalets.
Good to Know
Bring adequate swimwear and a change of clothes if you would like to enjoy more than just a short hike at the park.
