The only gambling entertainment spot and the biggest theme park in Malaysia, Genting Highlands is located in a hill resort with a soothingly cool climate.
The highlands, known as the ‘City of Entertainment’ is surrounded by many kinds of entertainment venues including casinos, theme parks (indoor and outdoor), SnowWorld, Sky Venture, and a shopping mall. Moreover, the highland is known for its breathtaking mountain view and cooling weather.
Location
Genting Highlands is located in one of the Titiwangsa Mountains between the states of Pahang and Selangor. It is about 60 kilometres away from Kuala Lumpur.
Opening Days and Hours
Genting Highland is open to visitors all year round. However, the theme parks are only open from 10:00 to 20:00 on weekdays, and from 08:00 to 22:00 on weekends. The First World Shopping Mall opens from 10:00 to 22:00.
Entry Fee and Bookings
There is no entrance fee to enjoy the environment and pleasant temperature in Genting. However, the outdoor theme park costs RM 50 (USD 12.16) for adults and RM 35 (USD 8.51) for children below 12 years old, while the indoor theme park costs RM 30 (USD 7.30) for adults and RM 28 (USD 6.81) for children below 12 years old. Online bookings are available to purchase tickets for the theme parks and also book hotel reservations.
How to Get There
The highland is accessible by road, and the journey takes about 45 minutes to 1 hour from Kuala Lumpur via the Karak Highway. Taxis are available from Puduraya Bus Station in Kuala Lumpur. The Kuala Lumpur-Genting direct coach service is available from KL Sentral, Jalan Duta Coach Station, Puduraya and Gombak LRT Station.
