Phou Asa Mountain
Phou Asa mountain, with its towers and stunning views, is not only one of southern Laos’ most visited site; it’s a great place for those who love trekking, too.
One of the most stand out attractions in Phou Asa Mountain is the set of towers — 108 stone towers capped with a flat rock on top — which looks like a castle’s fortress. Near the towers is the Wat Phou Asa, a temple near the summit that offers a breathtaking view of southern Laos’ larger areas. This mystery-filled mountain — archaeologists can’t still figure out where the mountain and its towers came from — can be reached by foot and by an elephant ride.
