Have a rare glimpse of Laotian life and diverse culture with a visit to the Traditional Arts and Ethnology Centre.

The Traditional Arts and Ethnology Centre (TAEC) is devoted to the preservation and celebration of Laos’ different ethnic groups – both today and from the past. The Centre’s displays reflect a rich and diverse ethnic population and features traditional textiles and clothing, religious artifacts, jewelry, handicraft tools, photography, and even household objects. It is also worthy to note that the Museum shop sells artisan handicrafts made by the villagers.

 

Location

The Traditional Arts and Ethnology Centre is located in the UNESCO World Heritage town of Dala Market at Luang Prabang, Laos.

 

Opening Days and Hours

The Centre is open Tuesday through Sunday, from 09:00 to 18:00. The museum is closed every Monday.

 

Entry Fee and Bookings

Entrance fee is free for locals and USD 3 per person for tourists.

 

How to Get There

The Traditional Arts and Ethnology Centre are very popular in Luang Prabang and every public transport knows the place. However, it is best for first-time visitors to take a taxi to the place.
