Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Hajah Saleha Bridge

Last October 2017, the Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Hajah Saleha Bridge was one of the highlights of the month-long Golden Jubilee of His Majesty’s Accession to the Throne. It gathered all the people from all walks of life to witness the opening of one of Brunei’s historical landmark.

This USD 97-million bridge named after the Sultan’s wife features dual carriageways and two interchanges that are adorned with a 157-metre tower in the centre and topped with an 8.7-metre diameter dome. This cable-stayed bridge is the first one in Brunei and is the second longest bridge in the world. The bridge that dominates the skyline over Brunei’s historic water village spans across Kampong Ayer and Jalan Residency. It is expected to ease the traffic congestion during peak hours as more than 18,000 motorists commute daily in these areas.
